It’s quick and easy to recycle your old mobile phone, and it won’t cost you a penny. But, on average, each phone donated is worth £5 in funds for our hospices.
Why recycle?
Our mobile recycling scheme provides a beneficial activity for your company, school or group in two main areas, fund raising and the environment.
- Fund Raising: The money raised from recycling your mobile will help our children and their families enjoy the best quality of life possible. Either at the hospice or at home, the nurses are able help in controlling their pain and other symptoms; offer emotional and practical support and provide suitable treatments and therapies
- Environmental benefits: Electronic items, such as mobile phones, present difficulties to the environment, both in their manufacture and disposal. By reprocessing and redistributing handsets, we are actively reducing not only the impact caused by irresponsible disposal, but through reuse we are able to reduce the demand for manufacture, and the associated damage to the environment.Some mobiles contain precious metals including gold and silver, and also toxic substances such as cadmium and mercury. If they end up in a landfill site, these could leak into the soil and pollute the surrounding environment.
How to donate your phone
hand in your handset to one of our charity shops across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes or visit the hospice reception desk between the hours of 9am – 5pm
Post your old mobile phone in a sealed envelope to FREEPOST RECYCLEWISE KEECH. That’s all you need to put on the envelope to reach our recycling company. Don't forget to pop your name and address in the bag.

Can you organise a collection at your place of work, school or group? If so, you can find all the information you need and supporting promotional materials to download here. We have designed a corporate brochure with all the information about our recycling scheme. The brochure covers who our partners are, how the scheme works and the financial and environmental benefits of recycling.
For larger collections of phones (15 or more) contact our recycling partner Recyclewise on 0203 1770100 or email ben@recyclewise.tv. Recyclewise will be able to provide you with a collection box. When you have finished, call them and they will arrange collection and send the money to us.
For smaller collections just pop them in a bag with FREEPOST RECYCLEWISE KEECH written on the sealed jiffy bag.
You can download a poster that can be placed on notice boards to help raise awareness of what you are doing. Don't forget to fill in the location of the collection point.
You can also download content for an email to send out to your colleagues or to post on your company’s intranet. Please amend this as required.
Don’t forget to get in touch with your IT/ Telecoms manager, as there may be company phones that you could add to the recycling collection.
