Friendship where it matters
The merger between Hospice at Home Volunteers and Keech Hospice Care is thought to be in the best interest of both charities and the beneficiaries of both. It will enhance both services and improve the support we can give to patients and families at home, providing a well trained volunteer workforce.
Our service provides an opportunity for clients to have someone to talk to outside of the family unit, or for their carers to take time out from their sometimes stressful and emotional role looking after a wife, husband, partner, relative or friend who is living with the life limiting condition.
Our volunteers are specially chosen and trained to behave with discretion and confidentiality. They respond to the individual needs and circumstances of each client. Volunteers aim to complement the statutory services such as Community Nurses, Macmillan Nurses, Social Workers, Hospital and Hospices by supporting the client in the comfort and privacy of their own homes.
