Biblical theft at Bletchley charity shop
19 October 2011
A thief has stolen an unusual bible from the Keech Hospice Care charity shop in Bletchley. The unholy act happened on Monday 16th October.
The boxed bible - almost A4 sized and priced up at £8.99 - was a large print reference bible, with a gold tooled cover and gilt around the page edges, with illustrations.
It was on display in the window and the uncharitable thief removed it and put another book from the 25p box in its place, He or she then replaced it in the window.
Bletchley shop manager, Andrea Parker, is shocked. "How could someone sink so low as to steal a bible from a charity shop? This might be a small theft but it means we have less money for the children from Bletchley and Milton Keynes who we care for.
"I hope the shoplifter feels guilty about stealing money from children with life limiting conditions and makes a donation to match the value of the theft, at least."
