Keech children go nuts for crisps!

Santa in St Albans shop windowChildren at Keech Hospice Care have been getting creative with Walkers’ crisp packets!

As well as enjoying eating the crisps, they have been making clothes out of the empty packets.

A fashion show was help at the hospice last month in front of families and friends. The clothes included ties, braces, jackets, skirts, but the showstopper has been a fabulous Santa suit which is now taking pride of place on display in the window at the hospice’s St Alban’s shop.

St Albans shop manager Kim Trivett with Susan BrzeskiShop manager, Kim Trivett, said: 'Our Walker’s Crisps Santa has been attracting a lot of attention, with people doing a double take and coming back for another look! It’s bringing them in to the shop which is fantastic!'

Jennie Collier, the Keech children’s service coordinator added: 'The children have had a lot of fun putting together these clothes. As well as being fun, it also teaches coordination, and team working.'

'Its really important for children with life limiting conditions to learn new skills and to be able to work together as a team on projects like this, and the key to learning is to make it fun.'

One of the costume workshops was attended by Oliver Heald, Member of Parliament for North East Hertfordshire, during a recent visit to the hospice.
