The sun was shining and our 21st Keech birthday beer was flowing making the vintage tea party a roaring success!
The vintage tea party event held at the hospice on Saturday 26 May was a huge success, with over 300 attending the event and raising a massive £5000! The event, which celebrated Keech’s 21st birthday, was full of fun and laughter as the local community and families enjoyed a day in the sun while helping a great cause.
The vintage tea party was jammed packed full of activities from traditional British tea and cakes, bbq, Keech birthday beer, face painting, stalls and challenges. There was also a range of live entertainment from a Prince Charles lookalike opening the event to live music and jazzercise performances.
Mike Keel, Chief Executive of Keech Hospice Care said: “The vintage tea party was a great success and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was great to see so many of the local community and families come together for such a fun afternoon. All the support is greatly appreciated and we really value every contribution made. Every year Keech Hospice Care supports hundreds of local people all of whom have serious conditions for which there is no cure. Our services are offered 365 days a year free of charge to all those in need of its services. However, we are reliant on the communities we serve to raise the much needed funds to allow our work to continue. Events like this are vital to ensuring that Keech can continue to support patients and their families in their homes across Herts, Beds and Milton Keynes.”
We would like to thank everyone involved in making the day a success, especially to Friends of Keech who organised the event as well as Arriva Buses who transported people to the event throughout the day. Thanks also to the volunteers including the Bedford Rotaracts, Community Needs and Waitrose who all came along and helped.
