The mysteries of Firewalking will be revealed in Bedford this March
when locals brave a path of hot coals to raise money for our children’s hospice.
The Firewalking feat will take place on Thursday 10th March from 6.30pm at Charles Wells Ltd.
Andrew Johnson HR director , from Charles Wells commented: “The children’s hospice provides such a valuable service for local families and we’re very proud to have given them our support over the last year. We’re delighted to be able to help once again by offering our venue for the Firewalk and are looking forward to seeing the fundraising really heat up on the day!”
To complete the challenge, participants will walk barefoot across 20ft of hot coals burning at a core temperature of over 800F. Firewalk experts, Time 4 Change, are in charge of the event and, with a 100% safety record, will be on hand to give their professional instruction.
Keech Events Fundraiser, Clare Bestall-Phillips, said: “Firewalking is a tough challenge of mind over matter and for many people it can be life-changing! What’s more, long after the embers have cooled, everyone’s achievement will be remembered at Keech Hospice Care as all the money raised will go towards the care we provide for children in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.”
Entry is just £30 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £200 in sponsorship. So, if you have a burning ambition to walk on fire, this is your chance to put it into action and help raise funds to improve the life of local children with life-limiting illnesses, and their families.
Participants must be18 or over to take part. For more information, call 01582 707945 or visit www.keech.org.uk/firewalk.
