Frank's wheelie happy with Keech lottery win!

16 September 2011

Frank imageFrank Hamel is scooting all around Luton after scooping the Keech Hospice Care Lottery weekly jackpot of £1,000.

Frank, 93 years young, is a regular volunteer at Keech, with over 8 years of service under his belt. He's been at the Keech Stopsley shop for the last 5 years, volunteering for 7 hours a day, six days a week, training new volunteers and preparing gift aid boxes for sale.

He has a standing order for the £1 lottery and scooped the August jackpot.

"I don't play it to win really, but to support the work that Keech Hospice does for adults and children.

"Because I pay by standing order it was a bit of a shock when they rang to say I had won!"

He's spent his winnings on a new scooter to help him get around faster. "I have recently stopped driving and wanted a scooter so that I can get around: this win is very useful and timely", he added.

Lottery tickets also make good presents or can be used as wedding favours or party favours for special occasions.

The £1 tickets can be purchased through the 21 Keech shops around Beds Herts and Milton Keynes or to become a member download the application form on the Keech website and like Frank, you could pay by standing order, which is far more cost effective for the hospice.
