Keech Hospice Care Ambassador, TV Presenter Pam Rhodes Receives Honorary Degree

Pam Rhodes, perhaps most familiar as a presenter on the BBC’s popular Songs of Praise programme was honoured by the University of Bedfordshire last week to mark her major contribution to television news and journalism and her role as an Ambassador for Keech Hospice Care which provide support for adults and children across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.

Pam was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of Arts in recognition of her contribution to journalism and charitable works by University Vice Chancellor Professor Les Ebdon CBE.

“It was a really lovely occasion,” said Pam “and I was pleased to be able to mention my association with Keech Hospice Care and the marvellous work they do.I first visited Betty Robinson House at the Keech Hospice over twenty years ago and became part of an enthusiastic team, determined to help provide the best hospice care in the country.Today, Keech Hospice Care really is the state of the art in hospice services – an achievement of which those supporters and everyone in the area should be justifiably proud.”

Deputy Chief Executive, Mike Keel, added:“We’re delighted for Pam and congratulate her on this Award. Pam has been a wonderful ambassador for Keech Hospice Care for many years, giving generously of her time and ability to engage the public in the work that we do with patients and their families all over Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and most recently Milton Keynes.We are delighted to have her on our team and look forward to lots of new opportunities to continue working with her.”
