Glenn Harrison, 7, of Hitchin, cut the official ribbon at the grand opening of our first Keech Hospice Care shop in the town. He did so alongside his older brother Cameron, 13, who is supported by our children’s hospice service.
The brothers’ mother, Karen Harrison, said at the shop opening: “Keech Hospice Care provides vital support for children and families like ours. We wouldn’t have coped without them.
“It is fantastic that Keech now has this presence in Hitchin as it will help to raise awareness amongst families who could potentially benefit from its services, as well as encouraging more people to support the children’s hospice locally.”
The shop, located at 18 Churchyard, was busy throughout the opening day, with shoppers snapping up bargains on clothes, bric-a-brac and household items.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, with all profits supporting our children’s hospice.
The shop is currently appealing for donations of good quality clothing, bric-a-brac, furniture, household items and other desirable goods.
If you have items you no longer need, donations can be delivered inside the shop during opening hours. Upon request, the shop will happily organise a home collection for any large donations.
To arrange a collection, contact the shop on 01462 441171.
