Festive fun runners in Wardown Park, Luton

Despite the winter weather, over 300 Santas gathered in Wardown Park in Luton on Sunday to take part in our final Santa Run for 2009!

Family fun at the Santa RunTV legend, Basil Brush, warmed the crowd up in “Boom boom” fashion with the help of Heart radio star, Richard Straffon.

After plenty of laughter, the joggers and walkers set off at 11am to complete three laps around the park - cheered on by friends and family who came out to show their support.

First to complete the run was Martin Davern, aged 42, who crossed the finish line in just over 16 minutes.

This is the second year we have held the Santa Run in Luton and we are all delighted that so many people turned out to support it, raising an expected £40,000 for our hospices.

A big thank you to all our runners, walkers, cheerers and volunteers who really got into the festive spirit and made the event a huge success!
