Keech Hospice Care depends on a team of over 1200 dedicated volunteers who work across all areas of the charity.
Can you help?
Volunteering is one way in which you can give your support to the communities of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes. You will gain satisfaction from knowing that your time and effort is making a huge difference to adults and children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Our volunteers come from a diverse range of backgrounds and choose to help Keech Hospice Care for a variety of reasons. So, whether you’re looking for a challenge, stimulation or fun, to develop new friendships, acquire new skills or put your existing interests to good use, volunteering could be the answer!
**URGENT - Drivers urgently required!**
We urgently need drivers to transport patients (adults and children) to and from the Hospice or to transport bloods to the hospital.
You will require your own car and a current driving licence. We pay expenses for the mileage undertaken for the Hospice.
If you can help we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact Hilary Chadwick or Helen McGuire on 01582 497652; 01582 497832 or email volunteering@keech.org.uk
**Are you interested in joining our team as a volunteer bereavement visitor?**
The Bereavement Care Service is looking for new bereavement visitors. Bereavement visitors offer one to one support to patients, families and friends, enabling the bereaved to talk through and express their grief in a caring and confidential relationship. We need people who can bring warmth, sensitivity and understanding with the ability to listen, without needing to offer their own interpretation or advice and who can sustain silence as an acknowledgement that words are sometimes inadequate.
We offer training, supervision and ongoing support. If you would like to find out how to become a bereavement vistitor please contact Jeff Lewcock, Bereavement Care Manager on 01582 497875 or email jlewcock@keech.org.uk.
**We need children's service volunteers!**
We are looking for volunteers to help in the children’s service making drinks. We are looking for people to help from 9am-12pm and 12pm-3pm Monday to Friday. If you are interested please contact Hilary Chadwick on 01582 497 652 or email hchadwick@keech.org.uk
For many of our volunteering opportunities, no previous experience is required and full training can be provided when necessary. Some roles do carry age restrictions and applications may be subject to references and Criminal Records Bureau checks.
If you are interested in volunteering at Keech, take a moment to read more about the different ways you could do this listed above.
